Transportation Assistance for Unhoused Neighbors in the Greater Oklahoma City Metro Area

Getting from one place to another can be one of the biggest barriers facing unhoused neighbors in the Greater OKC Metro. John's Dignity provides transportation assistance for homeless individuals in Oklahoma who need a ride to a church, a community resource, a housing-related appointment, or a non-emergency hospital visit. We come to you, meet you where you are, and help you get where you need to go, without judgment and without red tape.

Street Outreach Transportation in OKC
Rides That Remove Real Barriers
For many unhoused neighbors in the Greater Oklahoma City Metro, the distance between where they are and where they need to be is more than just miles. It is a gap filled with logistical obstacles: no vehicle, no phone, and no reliable way to make an appointment on time. John's Dignity offers street outreach transportation to help bridge that gap directly. Our volunteers provide non-emergency rides to churches, housing-related resources, community service organizations, and medical appointments that do not require emergency care. This mobility support for unhoused individuals is offered at no cost and without any qualifying process that would slow down access to help.

Who We Help
Reaching Neighbors in Encampments, Wooded Areas, and Beyond
John's Dignity focuses specifically on unhoused neighbors who are hardest to reach, including those living in wooded areas, railroad-adjacent locations, and encampments across the Greater OKC Metro. These are individuals who often cannot access stationary services because they have no way to get there. Our field-based model means we go to them first, and when a ride to a resource or appointment is needed, we make it happen. Whether a neighbor needs to get to a housing office, a church partner, or a non-emergency health appointment, our transportation resources in OKC are available to support that next step. We also assist individuals who are aging out of foster care or who lack identification documents and need help reaching the offices where those barriers can be addressed.

Part of a Broader Mission
Transportation as One Piece of Whole-Person Support
Transportation assistance is one part of how John's Dignity serves unhoused neighbors across the Greater Oklahoma City Metro. Alongside rides to appointments and resources, our volunteers deliver complete sack lunches, clothing, toiletries, cold-weather gear, and personal notes of encouragement directly into the field. We also help neighbors navigate documentation barriers such as missing birth certificates, Social Security information, and identification, and we assist with access to government phones and communication tools. Every service we provide is rooted in the belief that each person deserves to be seen and treated as an individual, not a statistic. John's Dignity is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and 100% of donations go directly to supporting our neighbors in the field. Our founders, Kenneth and his wife, take no salaries. Every dollar and every mile driven goes toward restoring dignity in the Greater OKC Metro.
